In 2011, the Bay Area Metropolitan Transportation Commission and the Bay Area Air Quality Management district approved the pursuit of a Bay Area-wide transit benefit ordinance through legislation at the State of California level. The legislation was able to pass both the CA State Assembly and Senate, but unfortunately it was vetoed by the Governor. It is planning to be reintroduced in 2012 with several changes that will minimize the opposition that formed in the last days of the debate in 2011. Check here in the coming months for updates.
